Vacations and Skiing

In March we spent two weeks at the beautiful Reibo Skilodge in Vemdalen. Olivia learnt how to ski without harness which was just great and I also got a couple of cross-country sessions too with Robin in the sleigh.

We went to Kalmar a couple of times (Ascension, Midsummer, July, Ironman in August and Öland’s Harvest Festival in September).

In the beginning of August we went for a ten day road trip to the UK. We started in London, we rented a car and spent the first night in a hotel in London. Then we continued south to Brighton and down the coast to Southampton. Back up north we (tres)passed through the Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey), Stonehenge and Oxford and we spent the night at a beautiful B&B north of Oxford. The rest of the vacation we hanged out with my father-in-law in Stafford between Birmingham and Manchester.

In December we left the kids at home with my mom and father-in-law and went for a five day trip to our favourite New York City. Here are some of my best tips of what to do in NYC.

Kids and Family

From January to March I had paternity leave with Robin and from April 1st he started daycare. Beata and I started working together from April and in August she joined iGoMoon, this has been so great for our family life and daily logistics. Robin started walking in June and talking during the autumn. Olivia starts hanging out with her friends after daycare and starts swimming school in November. It has been a truly great year with the family, wife and kids, a lot of play time, food, conversations and laughter. LOVE!!!

Work

During spring and summer we planed the merger between iGoMoon and Designstationen which finalized in August.

From Services to Products

We spent a lot of time, effort, blood, sweat, tears and much laughter during the autumn to reform iGoMoon from an ordinary web agency selling services to become an international product based IT-company. We now sell Rocket Websites and the concept Rent-a-Rocket.
We built five Rocket Themes based on our beloved WordPress Genesis Platform: Apollo, Atlantis, Discovery, Sputnik and Constellation. We have also changed CRM (from Highrise to Upsales) and ERP (from Fortnox to Proaktiv Ekonomi). We went from 3 to 6 people and hired Beata Gold (Project Manager), Robert Hallgren (Tech Sales) and Erik Rörström (Lead Developer), more to come during 2014.

Good to Great, Gasell here we come. Looking forward to 2014, we have already 15 new rockets launching during Q1.

Training and Racing

This year I decided to put a little more effort in my training and signed up for Kalmar Minitriathlon in August. During spring I trained more than usual, about 2-3 times a week. The race went really well, I made it in 69 minutes, two minutes better than 2011. The races was a sprint with 500 m swim, 18 km bike and 4,2 km run.

After the race I got a really good taste of triathlon and in september Beata and I joined a swim course. In October I joined Saltsjöbaden Triathlonsällskap. Since then I´m training three times a week with them, about 5 times in total per week and it feels great. My goals for 2014 are Kalmar Minitriathlon and Stockholm Olympic Triathlon.

House and Home

This year we refurbished Robins room, we made bed niches in the attics and repainted. During christmas we put up new wallpapers in Olivias Room.

Culture

We saw Les Miserables, I give it a year, The Great Gatsby, Jobs, Delivery Man, Hobbit II, Hundraåringen and Emil and Ida in Lönneberga at the cinema and Emil in Lönneberga at the theater with Olivia.
