As a digital company and a very flexible organization we always need to have access to our essensial apps. This is a series about how to live and work with cheap and secure online solutions in the cloud.
Basecamp
According to 37signals, Basecamp is the world’s most popular web app for storing, coordinating, and managing your company’s projects, tasks, discussions, and decisions. And that is correct in many ways.
Why use a project management tool in the cloud:
- Everyone stays up to date
- Everyone knows where everything is
- Nothing ever gets lost
- All information in one place
- A lot less emails
- Cheap
- Secure
What can Basecamp do?
- All projects in one overview
- Todo lists
- Files and documents
- Messages
- Comments
- Team, clients and vendors all together
- Calendar and schedule

Why did we choose Basecamp?
There are a lot of similar apps on the market but after testing like 20 of then this one really stands out with a great feeling and nice usability, a decent price and a lot of add ons and plugins to other useful apps that I´m going to tell you more about later.
Which alternatives are there on the market?
I´ve found one that seems to be a very similar to Basecamp and seems equally great. It´s called Apollo and is owned by Applicom, based in Italy. You can find them here www.apollohq.com.

Update 1:
I also found Podio and Asana, both of them seem great and really worth testing.
